Let’s go with the triathlon at the Rothsee. On June 18th 2023 it was that time again. Excella was very strongly represented with a total of 5 relay teams and one individual starter.
First up was the swim. The Rothsee had a temperature of 24 degrees and was for most athletes still the most pleasant thing on this day. The 1.5 km distance was completed by a relay participant in just under 25 minutes, which is a top performance!
After the swim it was time for the bike course at about 30 degrees. There you noticed for the first time: It’s getting really warm. Nevertheless one of the athletes needed only 1h:14 min for 42 km.
On the 10 km run course the sun was really burning down and made the athletes sweat at almost 36 degrees. A short cooling brought the showers and refreshment stations.
Finally arrived at the finish line, everyone could get cool drinks in the shade and discuss about the race. This year one of our relay teams made it to 8th place!
Even though a lot has to be organized, events like this always show that it’s still worth it. The interdepartmental team spirit is just great!
